Title: A good tire pump
Post by: tedeboy on July 13, 2021, 12:20:53 pm
Looking for suggestions for a good tire inflator pump while on the road.

AC and DC preferably. But if only AC then that's fine.

Thanks

Viair sells a line of quality 12-volt compressors, we carry a Viair 400P.
Amazon.com: VIAIR 400P Portable Compressor: Automotive (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000X9AXR8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
Good for both the LD and the Jeep.

I carried an Airman pump on my motorcycle. It is very compact and did a great job of refilling air on the bike.
I transferred it over to the Laze Daze for emergency use and have used it a few times to bring a tire up to the 70 lbs. I prefer to run.
It's 12v with a cig plug and a pretty long cord. Have had it now going on 20 years and it keeps on going.

Highly recommend the Ryobi 18v dual function inflator/deflator . I have a lot of their cordless tools which use the same batteries. Works great and no wires to deal with.

Same reason we like our Black & Decker with the Lithium batteries....

Vair is a favorite with many of us. I use their less expensive 88P model (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005ASY23I/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1), and find it works well. Ryobi would be my second choice, simply because over the years I've acquired quite an arsenal of their One+ cordless tools. With only a couple of exceptions (the caulk gun and the oscillating tool), I've found them to work well and be very good values.

By the way, I've found these third-party batteries (https://www.amazon.com/3000mah-Lithium-Replacement-Battery-Cordless/dp/B07VD4LNCW/ref=dp_prsubs_1?pd_rd_i=B07VD4LNCW&psc=1) to be compatible with my Ryobi tools, while packing more power at a much lower price.
