Title: 12 VDC refrigerator use
Post by: tedeboy on February 07, 2021, 03:45:53 pm
My Dometic RM-2607 is 3-way power source optional. Propane, AC, or DC.

I've never tried this but if I run the refrigerator on 12 volts as I head down the road will my alternator keep up with the discharge rate?

The alternator should be able to power the refrigerator when on the road but remember to turn it back to propane or A/C as soon as you stop driving. The refrigerator pulls 20-25-amps, when cooling, and will kill the battery within a few hours.
