Title: Paper Towel Holder
Post by: Ed & Margee on August 22, 2020, 05:32:59 pm
I’m somewhat embarrassed to confess that it took me 5 years to agree with Margee.   That is,  our kitchen could benefit from an under the cabinet paper towel holder.  Five (5) years!  😇  It’s a personality disorder on my part, which is best left unexplained.

Where were you keeping them before that?

Ed, better to take your time and get it right!  ;)  By the way, we have the same coffee pot. I think we need to start a new coffee thread.  ;D

"...our kitchen could benefit from an under the cabinet paper towel holder..."

Of course that location is the reasonable place to mount it! However, the bottom of the cabinet is a very thin piece of veneer and eventually the screws will enlarge the holes and the whole thing will fall into the sink, that is if it was not reinforced before installation. Guess how I know that?   :o  ;)

Ed,

You have done well. Personally, after nearly five years since picking up our LD, I am still reluctant to attach a paper towel holder below the cabinet. We still have the paper towel stand we got at Ikia or some such place.

I have such a tough time cleaning the kitchen blinds. Being able to place the holder elsewhere makes the task just that less difficult. When travelling it can be placed in the shower with all the other potential projectiles. 🤪

I notice your coffee maker. Very nice. I’ve thought of adding one as well, but the ‘holding zone’ during travel has already been taken by our new burr grinder. We truly enjoy freshly ground coffee. Still doing the old ‘pour over’.

The new solar upgrade has sped up the morning grind. Literally. Can hardly wait to wake up in the morning.

Gregg, What was that you were saying about coffee? ☕️🍩

That's where ours is and still hanging tight after 18 years.

Chris

Mine is also hanging from the upper cabinet for twelve years now.

On the counter in a vertical holder taking up valuable real estate.

Not if your knife rack were mounted on the inside of the cabinet door just under the sink! Mine is!   ::)

Speaking of the old 'pour over', we ditched the coffee maker a few years ago for a ‘Clever Coffee Dripper”. Kind of like a Pour Over cone but with the added benefit of French Press brew time Control. Allows each of us to brew when we are ready and according to taste. Oh, this coffee maker weighs about 2-3 ounces.

Been doing pour over for 30+ years, and have the Clever in my Amazon basket at this very moment.  But wonder about circumference of cup relative to the drip release mechanism.  Standard cup size?  I drip directly into my insulated mug that is not quite three inches in diameter.

Will it fit, ya' think?

I think the standard (not the small) size will work for your insulated cup. Ours works for everything but the widest mugs.

I see your point (no pun intended), but the door is too short to hold all of mine.  ( I just looked).  As Joan says, YMMV  ;)

We give up. How does this work like a French Press or different from a Melita? 🤔  — Jon&Loni
