Title: Info about overhead cab remodel
Post by: katy722 on March 18, 2020, 10:21:40 pm
Hello all,
I have my eye on a Lazy Daze I want to buy. What is holding me up is that there is a home entertainment system in the overhead cab. Has anyone ever had that changed back to a sleeper? I would hire someone to do this but, I don’t know how much it would cost or if it would ruin the structure?
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Katy

Hovering over the 'little house' icon on the home page of the board (and category pages) brings up a 'Search' option. The phrase 'remove cabover entertainment center' should bring up threads on this issue. You might also check the 'Companion'; the link is on the home page of the message board.

The wall framing behind the overhead entrainment center is built differently than the bunk bed and does not have the right structure for a bed . The cabinets are part of the structure and will weaken the cabover if removed, it will also leave an ugly mess, the walls behind the cabinets are not finished.

Looking for a model with the bed is the best way forward.
Happy hunting.

Katy,

Prior to putting our deposit down on our 2015 RB, my DW and I found a LD that also had the E-Center which we did not want.

I asked Todd at the factory if the E-Center could be removed. His answer was a resounding NO. That was all we needed to know.

So much of what LD makes is meant to last.

Best of luck with your search. Your current search has obviously come to a dead end, however many on the forum love their E-Center.

I just bought a 2001 26.5 RB with an entertainment center, and I called LazyDaze and asked if they could convert it to an overhead bed.  They said no, it can’t be done as Larry said it’s structurally different
