We have a 2006 Lazy Daze with one Solar Panel.. We do Not Boon dock Camping so rarely use the Generator or Solar Panel. We know the TV works when we don't have Electricity otherwise but what does the Solar Panel do? Thanks
I am not a solar expert, so my simple way of thinking about it is that the solar panel is always working. It soaks up the sun rays and turns them into electricity to keep your house batteries charged.
I found out how well they work by have an RV without solar panels. On that RV we would run the house battery down over a few days of camping and have to run the generator to get the battery power back up to where we could watch TV, use the fans, etc.
Now that we have solar panels, we have never run out of battery power and we never have to run the generator except to use AC or to cook with the microwave when we don't have shore power.
Hope that helps,

Think of your batteries as a saving bank account. Using random numbers as an example .... If you have a lead based battery you have a maximum of ,lets say, 100 units to draw out. Of this only 50 units can be used before the battery becomes hurt. When you use DC power you draw out units. A generator or solar panel will replace the used units. If you always plug in when you camp then very little of your stored units will be use.

Thanks so much for this information, Jim and colddog- you made it very clear.
