Title: New LD owner in MI
Post by: Danclem on September 15, 2019, 09:18:43 am
Hello Lazy Daze owners,
I just picked up a 97 and I'm bringing it up to her full potential. I am going to have a few questions about stuff I haven't figured out yet.

#1 is there no battery crossover to start engine from coach batteries

#2 are the two switches in the loft labeled furnace and light stock or added. I found the light but baffled by what the furnace switch does.

Welcome to LDOG, Dan. What floor plan/model is your '97?

Welcome to the LD world!

LD did not install any kind of emergency start solenoid to connect the coach batteries to the chassis batteries.  Lots of folks carry long jumper cables.  Larry Wade installed a marine grade battery switch which can connect the two together for this situation.  (likely similar to a Blue Sea 3002)

A switch near the loft bed was sometimes a user added feature to turn the furnace on in the morning without gettting out of bed.

Hi, Dan, welcome!
Please make a note on your calendar to join other Great Lakes/Midwest Owners the weekend of May 16, 2020. We'll be at Shipshewana from May 14-17. Watch the Great Lakes forum on this page in the next couple of weeks for detailed information and how to reserve a site. It's very helpful for new owners to talk to other LDOs!
Hope to see you then.
