Title: Generator and house battery question
Post by: Cebuano54 on September 08, 2019, 10:41:01 am
I appreciate everyone’s help and wisdom here as I I am still learning about my LD. Today’s question: if my Onan generator starts and runs when I use  the button inside the coach but not when (engine off) I use the switch at the generator, does that suggest a dead 12V house battery? I have solar and the panel charge readings are normal. The battery is 3 years old. Is there a way to test the house battery using another system or appliance?

Nope, it suggests the outside switch is defective.

You didn't say if the engine spins or not when using the outside start switch.
If it spins and doesn't start, it needs to be primed first, by pushing the start switch in the opposite direction until the light come on, it's the same method used to start from the inside.
