Title: Exhaust Tip
Post by: RonB on September 02, 2019, 05:29:44 pm

My friends exhaust pipe (2001 MB) had been dragged across a few curbs, so I felt compelled to do something.  I will have to look up where I got the part.   RonB

I had an exhaust tip some years ago and because it extended beyond the tailpipe, I kept catching it on curbs and the like, therefore I removed it.

Yes, that's why I picked this one, It doesn't stick out much past the wheel skirt. You can custom cut off the pipe  you have to get this tip to be where you want.  Made by DynaFlex, It has a double layer so the outside doesn't get so hot. I included a different angle picture.  RonB

Does it burble like a Chris-Craft?  ;)

Only if it's under water with the engine running. That's probably not something anybody would want. RonB

Does anyone know what the diameter of the exhaust pipe is? Mine is bent a little too and I think an exhaust tip would be a nice touch.

Our 2003 LD has an 3" exhaust pipe.
I added a chrome tip several years ago but it soon rusted and now looks just like the original, a waste of time and money.
A stainless steel tip should stay decent looking longer and will add at least 20-horse power, maybe more ;-).

Ha!!! I’m also expecting to get 20 mpg after this “upgrade”.
