Long story short, escape hatch cover was ripped off while driving on I5, CA. Mother Ship says manufacturer no longer exists.
I am thinking plexiglass, heat gun and hinge? How to address opening hardware? (My rig does not have a ladder).
What think you?
Although the maker may be gone, replacement can likely be found online. Take careful measurements and pay close attention to the type of hinge, as that is the most critical part. If the old hinge survived from the lid, you can pop-rivet it to the new lid, if necessary. If the old opener slide-bar survived, transfer that to the new lid if the included one does not fit.

Although the maker may be gone. Heng's purchased most of them, Old Elixir,New Elixir, Jensen, Ventline, Etc.
My 88 MB has a New Exlir, although "the new Elixir" was not supposed to come out for a few more years. My date code is "0488", it appears original to the LD. There is a very knowledgeable store in Arizona with a website that explains these, but he tells you to order through your local supplier. RESAON, The covers are not well packaged by the Distributor and the get damaged in transit. You get mad and he looses money.
