Title: 2007 26.5 rear bath CCC weight?
Post by: ChezzeBait on June 21, 2019, 08:06:44 pm
Hello all,

Ive looked high and low on this forum for the CCC weight on a 2007 26.5 rear bath.  Ive asked google as well, with no luck.  Can anyone else think of another place i can look?  The LD pocket guide says CCC increased to 1,900-2,000 lb. (depending on floorplan) in 2008. So i wonder what 2007 is?

There is one on RV Trader I maybe interested in, even has a option to buy a tow car with it.

https://www.rvtrader.com/listing/2007-Lazy-Daze-26.5-REAR-BATH-5008080486

Thank you,

Gabe

A 2007 RB's CCC is 1589-lbs. It has a GVW of 14,050-lbs. in 2008, the GVW was increases to 14,500-lb.

Thank you Larry.

So here is the CCC & GVWR of 26.5/27 RB models from pre 2007 to 2019 (present) from my research:

????? - 2007    GVWR 14,050 lbs & CCC 1,589 lbs (info obtained from Larry)
2008 - 2015   GVWR 14,500 lbs & CCC 2,000 lbs (info obtained from LD pocket guide)(disc brakes increased from 10" to 13")
2016 - 2019   GVWR 14,500 lbs & CCC 2,943 lbs (info obtained from 2019 LD spec sheet)

Does this look right Larry? ( do you know the year where the ?????? Is on top of this list? )

Besides the brake upgrade in 2008, what makes the newer models CCC more? Upgraded suspension,  motor improvements,  etc?

A newer model is nearly double the CCC, that is a huge factor on deciding if I should go used or new. Since me, my wife, and three border collies will be living in (out of) this for work, pleasure and survival ......going for the newer models seems extremely important for carrying survival/quality of life items.....especially since we will be doing a decent solar system at some point,  though probably not 8 lithium batterys, hehe.

A 2007 could be had for $38k (58k miles), and going new is $102k. Decisions decisions, since CCC is such a huge factor, especially for full timers :)

Thanks for reading,

Gabe

A newer model is nearly double the CCC, that is a huge factor on deciding if I should go used or new.

There was no huge increase in CCC in 2016, none to be precise.
The difference is the result of an 2010 accounting change.
2009 and older used the term CCC or 'Cargo Carrying Capacity'.
Newer models use OCCC or 'Occupant and Cargo Carrying Capacity'.

Let's compared weights of an 27' RB for the years 2010, 2015 and 2019. All three have the same GVW of 14,500-lbs.
Looking up the UVW ( Unloaded vehicle Weight), of a 2019 RB, you will find 11,557-lbs.
A 2015 RB has a UVW of 11,557-lbs
A 2010 RB has a UVW of 11,363-lbs.
A 2010 is almost 200-lbs lighter, giving it a greater available weight capacity than either the 2015 or 2019.

So much for getting a higher cargo capacity by buying new.
Unless Ford ups the GVW or LD starts building lighter bodies, the cargo capacity will remain similar.
The numbers will change somewhat with the new engine and transmission, I wouldn't expect a big difference.

So under the current accounting (OCCC), in addition to weight of passengers, you would need to subtract the weight of propane and water in any tanks (plus the six gallons in water heater) from that figure, correct?

I'm not really sure how the number is calculated but it does make it appear that more CCC is available in newer models without it actually increasing. The GVW and built weight have not changed .

This AM Solar page of solar kits lists panel specs; it will give a good idea of weights and dimensions.

Thanks, Joan.  And I see more discussion on this a few threads down the list.
