Title: Stuck Brake Shoes 1990 26'
Post by: Jagerbeast on May 18, 2019, 12:20:36 pm
New brake problem this last trip:  Stopped to get gas and set parking brake. (My 1990 is old style with e-brake cables leading to rear drums.)  When I left the gas station the mh seemed sluggish pulling away so I double checked that the parking brake was released and had no indicator light.  Drove about 3 miles and started smelling brakes. Decided to pull over at a good spot and the brake pedal went almost to the floor. Got out and felt hubs and driver's side rear was a roastin'.  Backed it up into the shade and jacked it up. Weirdly, the wheel spun freely but I backed off the shoes with the adjustment star a few teeth just to be sure. After the fluid cooled down all was great again. I think the brake released when I backed up.  Has anyone ever had just one corner stick like this?  P.S.  Did not touch the parking brake the rest of the trip.
