Title: Rusted Screws and Ryobi Hex Impact Screw Driver
Post by: Mindispower on May 10, 2019, 12:28:53 pm
This little rusted bugger will not budge. Other than thru the aluminum, it grips into wood.

Appreciate ideas.

I use a battery impact screwdriver to remove screws that are difficult to break loose but if it refuses to budge, leave it alone.
RYOBI 18-Volt ONE+ Cordless Brushless 3-Speed 1/4 in. Hex Impact Driver... (https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-18-Volt-ONE-Cordless-Brushless-3-Speed-1-4-in-Hex-Impact-Driver-Tool-Only-with-Belt-Clip-P238/301853896?MERCH=REC-_-PIPHorizontal2_rr-_-207092155-_-301853896-_-N)

It doesn't appear that the end caps are pulling way, the adhesive is still working fine and the screw adds little or no strength..
I would clean things up, the treat the rusted screws with a little Naval Jelly and seal the seams with 5200 FC, before touching up the paint.
