Title: Factory 1990 Bumper Mount?
Post by: Jagerbeast on February 13, 2019, 10:09:38 pm
My 1990 mid-bath has the strangest looking frame/bumper arrangement. I was wondering if this is how it came from the factory. It has  upper rails supporting the bedroom  and smaller rails parallel to it below. Really small bumper brackets continue to the back. Looking at the pictures, can anyone say if this is how their early Lazy Daze came equipped?

I believe so.  My 1988 MB was constructed in a similar way. On my '88 the small lower "C" channel is cut, welded and continues up diagonally to the bumper.   The 1986 manual that come with the rig claims a 3000 pound towing capacity.

Thanks for the info. I could never find any pictures of the undercarriage of one that old. I might try adding that diagonal piece you describe. It seems like it would definitely add some extra strength.
