The Red Latch for keeping the escape hatch closed broke on my 98 ~ MB, does anyone know where to get one? The Mothership has them but that will take more time then we have. We are leaving on a trip for three weeks in a couple days, if we knew a manufacture or part name and number we could pick it up some where?

Thanks, but different then the one in our 98~MB which is made of red plastic, it may not be original. Although that gives me some ideas for modifying and making something else work.

Our ‘15 RB doesn’t have an emergency hatch so I’m afraid I have no direct comparison for a replacement part for your latch. Perhaps you can disassemble the latch you have and replace the moving part that snapped.
If that doesn’t seem a reasonable solution, perhaps you can replace the latch with a different style. A local hardware store may provide an acceptable alternative.
I found a latch on Amazon that has the potential to be a fair replacement. You never know. Here’s a pic of the part I found.

I think I found it on a website back from Elkhart Indiana, Can You Believe it! and they have a phone number, so I will call them tomorrow to see what they can do for us.

Found one in Elkhart Indiana and ordered it and paid by credit card to get it quickly. Normally We get most of those items from the Mothership but with ordering with and receiving via-snail mail, we need to have it functioning in a few days on our trip to Utah, Colorado and New Mexico and the Balloon Festival. When the new part comes in and if it fits I will report back here with the part number if anyone has a similar situation.
