Title: Loctite pl-s40
Post by: Cor2man on July 07, 2018, 11:16:13 am
I have decided to use the loktite pl-s40 instead of traditional dicor....that being said what is the general consensus when it comes to getting semi even coverage?

I’m figuring the loktite isn’t self leveling so what is the best practice for leveling/smoothing out around a replaced roof vent/antenna? Biggest worry is creating air bubbles and voids while trying to get a clean smooth sealant application.

Thanks for any advice

Clean surfaces before sandwiching the sealant. Acetone (quickly dry it off painted surfaces), followed by propanol.

What about around vents? The sealant protecting the gaskets?

If you are applying over existing sealant, scrub with brush and soap solution, rinse, and apply 90% propanol to dry completely. If a cleared-off seam, then the acetone-propanol treatment.
