Title: Cab door clearances
Post by: Mrdronennut on May 11, 2018, 02:35:08 pm
I recently read a post in one of our forums, where someone was looking at/buying an older LD,and it was mentioned that the drivers/passengers door was almost touching the overhang from the upper bunk.
It got me thinking, what is my clearance???!! So i break out the trusty old tape-measure,open my doors and check my closest distance between the edge of my door, and my overhang.
Mind you,my 1995,26.5 MB is in very good shape, but I'm wondering. What is "the perfect measurement"+-??
Mine measures between  9/16 to 3/4 of an inch. Is this good, bad,or just ok?
Input please. Thanks

Sounds about right. My ‘12 has less than that.

Both of my LDs have had about 1/2" of clearance between the top of the doors and the overhead.
If it starts decreasing, it's an indication that a leak and rot may be present

Thanks. Mine is a "hair"over 1/2. So that's where i got my measurements. I'm 65,and the euesight ain't so good these days.
So,i guess i can ease my mind.
Thanks again.
