BOOST MODE: If the INTELI-POWER MARINE converter/charger senses the battery voltage has dropped below a preset level, the system automatically switches into the Boost Mode. In this mode the charge voltage is increased to 14.4 volts for a period of approximately 4 hours.

Is there any consensus that the pd4600 rv units behave this way (boost for 4 hours)? I just finished installing my 4655, and after putting a big load on it, I watched it go from normal to boost, but it seems like its been several hours that it remains there after 100 % on the battery. The pd4600 manual seems to suggest it would select the new appropriate stage "whenever" the battery changed state...
The boost mode continues until the charge current drops below a certain level, usually about 1A. I assume for this test that you do not have solar - or have its fuse pulled. If not, and you have a Heliotrope charge controller, it will override the converter, and is NOT a multi-stage charge controller.

I have solar, and threw a tarp over the panels. The controller is a 3000i. Doesn't the charge wizard just go off of battery soc? I'd think it would switch modes whether its charging or not. Though this was just my blind assumption...
