Our RB is stored in a covered storage facility eight miles from our home. There is an electrical hook up for keeping the battery alive, but not for running anything. HOA rules keep us from having it at home, which might be preferable - or not. We feel it is pretty safe where it is, though, from unwanted human intervention.

We keep our rig inside a 12 x 35 garage that is insulated with power inside. It is a public individual garage complex that includes an air station, covered wash racks, soft water and 24 hrs access as well as 24 hr onsite security.
It's in Indio CA and about 15 mins from home.
I've been looking for inside storage for a year near Indio with no success. All booked. Any referrals?
My TB is inside an uninsulated machine shed at the farm six miles out of town (so moderately inconvenient). The shed is a half mile up the hill from the gate on a lightly traveled gravel road (only three neighbors of 30+ years with grown kids, so not much traffic), & neither Dad nor the tenant who rents the back half of the shed for tractors/combine had any problems with interlopers before I put the rig out there.
No electricity, so I try to get a good sunny day for the solar panels when pull her out to exercise the genn. After I shut off the genn, she sits out 'til dark. There's a trickle charger connecting the house batts & chassis batt, & I also drive her in the pasture for about ten minutes so her tires get several revolutions. There's well water, but I don't use it in/on the rig--maybe when I get a filter system set up.

I keep ours on the driveway behind our house. It is uncovered because I try to drive it monthly, and I don't want to climb on the roof anymore than I need to. Further, I want to keep the solar panel out where it can see the sun (every now and then). No external power.
Mine is kept outside in our driveway. I would love to have it inside but don't have the room on our lot to build storage for it.
We keep Baxter in our driveway. During the summer the sun hits the solar panels but the houses keep the sun off the body paint. During winter sun hits the solar panels about 5 to 6 hours a day.
Driveway here. It's 4" too tall to go thru the garage door. Working on a way around that, since I have 11 feet inside.

Our 26 ~ MB is stored in an Airplane hanger with and Airplane and a 1982 VW Diesel Vanagon. We use a couple of 300W and a 500W heater to keep things from freezing when the temperature drops below 33 degrees. Last year while the LD was parked we had about 15 days of below 33 degrees. We do not winterize it because we will take it skiing a couple of times and we like to have it ready in case we need it in an emergency. Our other Motor Coach a 84 itaska 21ft lost it's spot in the hanger and has been relegated to a modified Costco tent, it's has been winterized and will be there for winter season.

Our LD is sitting out on the driveway, where is has been parked for the last 15 years, except when we are traveling.
Cold isn't an issue, the summer heat is.

Orwan lurks behind the fence at the side of the garage. It gets tarped if I expect it to sit more than 30 days. Plug it in when the batteries drop under the tarp. Rarely gets below 30 in the winter, but when it does an electric heater keeps the rime off the interior.
We park our LD in a RV high fenced Storage Yard that is very clean, concreted and a family lives on site. We cover it because summers are very hot and will fade paint. It has a Dump Station, which is really nice returning from trip, of course water available. There must be at least 200+ RV's, costs is $50.00 per month which seems reasonable. There are RV Garages too, but we never checked on the costs.
Outside covered with an ADCO cover. They make a custom fit cover for all Lazy Daze rigs and they fit perfectly.
We park in a 34' covered storage area with protection on 3 sides, East facing Sun. (West & South facing Sun in Texas is brutal.) We have 20A service, air pressure station, dump station, and the area is secured with a fence, electric gate, and cameras. And our LD is 3 miles down the road which allows for frequent visits for naps and piddling.
Outside, concrete parking lot (fenced and reasonably secure) situated between freeway off and on access roads, no dump, no water, no working on rig permitted, filthy air blackens roof within days, 15 miles from home, and only $176 per month. What’s not to like? 🤔 — Jon
7 continuous months a year lived in and out and about; for 1 month after returning from previous 7, sits in the driveway and does so again for 1 month after summer and prior to the next 7-month ramble. The remaining 3 months she (Wild Thing) sits at her summer home in a beautiful glade overlooking a pond on Cape Cod. We visit her a couple of times a summer for a week or so at a time.
For the 2 winters we've not gone on the road due to unforeseen troubles (not RV-related), one winter was in a gated outdoor storage facility with a cover on and the second time in a friend's side yard out in the country, no cover on. That cover is a beast to wrangle and neither of us "does" heights any longer.
Inside parking is rare to come by and very expensive, but mostly, very rare to find, in our area of New England.

Wait, only about 16% of LDs are stored inside? Weird that about 78% of LDs for sale are always garaged. I wonder why those of us who store them inside are selling them at such an increased rate over those stored outside? Hmmmmm...
Hi Paul. Maybe the monthly reminder of the cost of storage, is a reminder that you aren't using it very much. "Out of sight-out of mind" sort of thing.
Mine is stored in my driveway. I have a reserved place to put it when I get home. It is always loaded and ready to go at a moments notice. A constant reminder with the fires in California. The Lilac fire (we have friends who live just off Lilac) was nearby. RonB

I'd venture a guess that's way less than 16% of LD owners are regular visitors to the LDO Forum. For example, the LDO Forum has 5,794 registered members. On any given day, there's 100-150 members visiting the Forum. So the Poll's sample can only provide us a glimpse of a relatively few LD Owners. Polling is tricky business.

The last 10-12 LD's I've met and talked to this year have never heard of the forums. A few said they would check them out, a few did not know what a forum was. I always ask what someone's forum name is to break the ice and it surprised me that none of the LD's I've met did not know about it. I'm camped right now by a 71 year old lady with an '89 FD (or whatever it was then) and all she has is an iPhone. She could use the info here, but I don't think she will ever learn the phone well enough to be able to access them. All you can do is try.

Living across the street from a few thousand acres of dry brush, we try to keep the rig ready to leave quickly. With the recent fires, we moved a couple of boxes into the LD, things we couldn’t easilt replaced, along with the things we normally load just before leaving.
It sure made packing for our Xmas getaway a snap.

I too ask. Want I have found is many would like to know and learn the 'new' stuff but us "youngsters" are not very good teachers or more likely very patient with them. For example I had an old smart phone that was gathering dust. I asked my almost 90 year old father in law if he would like to have it. I fully expected him to laugh at me and say no. What he did say is "YES". Yes he just wanted someone to sit with him to explain in terms and words on how to use it. I spent a day setting up and explaining this and that on his new phone. A few weeks later at a family dinner he pulled it out to show all the family.
The lesson I learned is don't count out the old folk some of them are really smart. Ya ya you'd think at my age I'd know that.
At 63, I may be like your F-i-L...but I don't have a kid or grandkid to lead me through the process. I also really hate the idea of investing in the cost of something that may be outdated (& throttled to "extend battery life") before I learn much about it. :P The idea of yesterday's hot new thing would be perfect for me to learn on--especially with someone patient enough to do the tutorial, so congratulations on the gift of time & connection you gave your F-i-L as you brought him further into the 21st century than some of us have gone. ;D
