I just returned to Oregon from the mothership last week after getting my roof resealed. As expected, Vince oversaw a very professional job where the roof was completely resealed and all the vents were replaced with new ones. Replacing the vents is highly recommended by the factory because the vent frames tend to crack over time and can cause leaks. Doing this at the same time ensures that the roof is good to go for another 10-12 years. It wasn't cheap, though.
There were only two LD's in the showroom, a mid-bath and a 24' TK, both of which I believe had been sold. I was told that the lead times for a new LD are now about a year. There are also long lead times to get appointments for repair work done at the factory. I had to wait about 6 months. They are busy all the time.

Was told this week by Todd that time to a new LD was 12to 16months. Based on the insanity that is today’s RV world I would be more inclined to believe 16 than 12 when given a timeframe like this. The inquiry was in regard to getting a 31IB. 😙 Not sure if the length of the rig leads to different lead times.
I don't know if the overall leadtime is lengthened by ordering a 30', but they do have to send out the chassis to get lengthened.
On the new ones, do they just stick two 3" c-channels on it like the older short ones, or is it lengthened with actual full-height frame material? And does the new extension make it all the way to the back for install of a proper hitch?

On the 31' models, the frame is cut and new oversize pieces of frame are welded in, overlapping the frame at both ends, by several inches. The drive shaft is also extended to match the frame.
I have never seen or heard of any problems with the extensions.
The extension does not extend to the rear hitch.
The rear bumper is attached the same way it's done on other LD, using "U" shaped steel extensions, bolted to the frame and bumper, on both sides.
It is more than adequate for the Factory 4000-lbs hitch rating.

Whatever way they do it, they seem to to stay together, LD has been building 31" models for a very long time.
I have never heard of any issues due to the extension.
The only 'problem' seems to be the reduced CCC.
