Title: Adding CB Antenna
Post by: ortmak on August 20, 2017, 07:07:44 pm
Considering adding a CB rig to my 30' island bed rig. I'm concerned about putting any hole in roof skin.
Has any one been able to mount a CB antenna on the side of their cab over compartment successfully?  Did a single antenna adversely affect reception or transmission?  Magnet mount won't work with aluninum skin.
Thanks
Marc

Added a magnetic roof mount antenna to our '04 FL. Glued a steel plate to the roof with 3M 5200, and used a marine-grade pass-thru on the roof for the cable, routing it past the roll-bar gusset and under the bunk into the cab. No leaks, and antenna is very secure.
