Title: Window Shade Guide Lines repair
Post by: Bill Streb on July 10, 2017, 11:21:47 pm
The bathroom window shade cord in my '03FL has broken and needs to be restrung. I can't find a good description on how to do the repair.  I saw step by step photo illustrated pictorial on how to restring an RV night shade years ago in wxtoad, but I can't find that site. Does anyone have them or have advice on how to find the wxtoad site replacement?

Check "The Lazy Daze Companion"; the link is on the home page of the forum. Scroll to "Window Blinds" in the index  at page left; there is instruction on blind re-stringing in the material.

Here is Ted's article.
Restringing Shades (https://wxtoad.com/~ultimat2/wx2/index.php/lazy-daze/restringing-shades)
You will need a repair kit, it has the proper non-stretch string and new tensioning springs.
Amazon.com: United Shade 650000 Pleated String First Aid Kit: Automotive (https://www.amazon.com/United-Shade-650000-Pleated-String/dp/B008OAECW0?SubscriptionId=AKIAILSHYYTFIVPWUY6Q&tag=duckduckgo-d-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B008OAECW0)

Find a very big table to lay the shade out on, it will need to be fully extended.
