Title: 12v to generator?
Post by: mcnugget on June 30, 2017, 06:29:10 pm
Where do i shut off the 12v lead to the generator? It goes up into the floor of the coach,  but I see no fuses or breakers in the coach panel.  I need to disconnect it.

Thanks

First, you would need to tell people you have a '99 Mid bath. If you have a battery switch between the batteries in the battery compartment then that is the place. I have an RB so beyond that, I don't know.

McNugget,
My '88 MB has battery on the right side.  I do not have a disconnect switch. It's wires (4 red 2 black)exit upper rear of battery box into coach and rear dinette bench, go under carpet, exit the floor near chassis/ front of battery box to the two resetting circuit breakers mounted on the bottom of the floor between the generator and battery box.  A ground goes to the chassis here also.  My only disconnect is to remove the two negative battery cable at the right rear negative post.
2 red wires to double resetting breaker set, ? Isolator?
1 red to a single resetting breaker, ? Converter?
1red must go to generator ?
See the picture in avatar photo, you can spot Battery and generator doors.

So,  yes,  99 mid bath.  I was kinda struggling with my phone and grease covered hands.  In the end I wound up pulling the negative on the coach batteries and the lead still had voltage at the Genny,  so I left it connected and just dropped the generator 4 inches.  That was enough to change out the carburetor.  That is one tight job....  And apparently new carbs for that emerald are on national backorder till at least fall.

Thanks all
