So, a little bit of 0000 steel wool and 60 seconds of my time and the exhaust looks better. I cleaned it about 6 months ago and it still looks good IMO. Some might say that's a ridiculous use of time and I would agree ... BUT ... it made me smile.

I also got tired of looking at that rusty pipe (exhaust) and had my local brake/muffler shop weld a chrome tip on. Problem solved, just a bit of polish now and then so it sparkles. 8)

When I came in all proud of the new 'improvement' DW wasn't that impressed. She did refrain from pointing out the earlier 'improvement' I applied a few years ago when a LA on ramp jumped out into the lane to help me. I do so love the LA on ramps in LA.

That little bit of bent tailpipe can be rounded out with a bit of work. I know because our LD came with a pre-existing condition similar to the one in your photo. And you can see from my photo, the pipe is mostly round now.

I used heavy duty vise grips for the first bend and worked each 1/8" or so section. Then I placed a small steel bar inside the pipe and rimmed the pipe into a circle. Finally, I used a metal file to smooth out the rough spots from the tooling. Probably took me 20 minutes or so.

Yep just did that to mine. It came with damage a little worse then the one in the picture. Took off about 3/4" and now it's nice and round again.
Well years ago this looked a lot better. A stainless steel 'turn down' pipe attached with a set screw. Ran into a blowing plastic shopping bag that melted onto the extension. A blowtorch and abrasive wheel made it look better. now just need to polish it up better..... RonB

Mister Ed, when are you going to give your rig the "Full Texas" pimp job? One where you add a set of Texas longhorns to the hood, some air horns to the roof of the cab, and some dangling bull bits to the hitch. O:)
I actually saw a Kia Soul at the grocery store a few weeks ago that had the longhorns on the hood and the bull balls in the rear. Quite distinctive looking. It was someone visiting Ohio from Kentucky....Yes, I complimented him on his decor.
I think our esteemed moderator Chris added some chrome to his exhaust many moons ago, perhaps before he customized with "Cactus Pete" on his antenna.

Yes, I added a chrome exhaust extender to dress it up a bit. Problem was, it caught on every curb, rock, etc. Off it came. And Steve, it's not Cactus Pete, it's Cactus Cowboy. He's my driving good luck charm and slips right over the radio antenna. I know - tacky, tacky, tacky.

After having had 5 or 6 of these dudes, I have learned that to keep the hat on I have to wrap a thin strip of duct tape around the antenna just above his hat and/or use a thin piece of wire to tie it to his torso. I used to see these guys all over Arizona but not so much anymore.

Jim and Gayle, Hmmm air horns. I've got these, but the prices seem much higher than when I bought. Actually don't use them often. if you really want it round, this (https://www.harborfreight.com/automotive-motorcycle/exhaust/large-tail-pipe-expander-69549.html) is the right tool... probably $15 with coupon. not sure of the diameter, they have a smaller one that's less money too.
