Ok so Lazy Daze has the best anti skid known to man kind on their running boards. It's about like 60 grit sandpaper. I know I can't be the only one who has stepped out of the cab. Bypassing the running board stepping to the ground. And having the anti skid remove a layer of skin off their calf. So I am tired of bleeding and wondering if anyone has covered this anti skid with something else. Something a little more flesh friendly lol. I was thinking about spray on Bedliner. Any other suggestions?
My daughter (Lazy Bones 2) would commiserate with you... she has scraped her leg more than once. Good luck in taming that ankle biter! >:(

That is a common LD injury, I have done and so have many others.
Leaving the anti-skid as is, I learn to step flatly on the running board and have avoided new injuries.
Cut the anti-skid tape back an inch or so, removing the side and front edge and then, after cleaning up the remaining adhesive, mask and paint with a black trim paint.

I knew I wasn't the only one! The DW thought it was just me sense she hasn't done it.
As my dad stated, I tore up my leg pretty bad one year😥 Now I take my time and I'm careful getting out of the rig to avoid going through that again. 🚐
Oh good, it's not just me then.
As a new LD owner I figured it was just part of the learning curve...

Consider the scar a sign of ownership.
Welcome to the cult.

I remember those running boards. Yes, consider those scrapes LD battle scars!
Dang! my turn must be coming!

I was shocked how fast it started to get infected. I'm guessing from all the road grime on the No Skid.
Having recently recovered mine, I can attest that yes, it'll go through 7 layers of dermis like a hot knife through butter!
Yep. Happened to me a couple of years ago, and it took many months for the abrasion scars to heal. :-(

The side benefit of those running boards is you can use them to file your nails, sand that latest wood project, or punish that misbehaving grandchild, etc. :o

That new stuff looks lethal good job though.
And, in case your sandpaper steps are loosing the grit, the Mothership stocks new step covers, so you can scrape the back of your legs, no matter how old your LD is.
BTW, it's bear to get the old cover and adhesive off.
Small missing patches of the cover can be painted with flat black, if you do not wan the hassle of removing the old covers.

I bet it hard to get off. I didn't even think it was tape looking at mine. I thought the mothership put it on with paint and ground glass.
Did it twice the first day after delivery in AZ. Not a single time since then.
The first time was painful, the second time it was nasty looking.
That's what is known as 'Board bite'... just show me another vehicle that has running boards or fender skirts! 8)

Steve you forgot the continental kit on the back lol. I guess a little leg rash is a small price to pay to own the best looking RV made.
Touche Duro, I did forget that 'Continental'... my bad! :(

I got to thinking that, when time to replace the original non-skid tape, if a product like Roller Rock would be a good option? It's a paintable stone coating by a company called Daich Coatings out of Canada.
I applied this product to my rear cement patio almost 2 years ago and am getting ready to do the front patio soon. I waited because I wanted to see how it holds up to the temperature changes we get up here in the mountains, and so far it looks great! The ground up stone in the product acts as a non-skid material, though not nearly as coarse as the stuff LD uses.
It comes in a variety of colors, so may work for any LD. Not sure how it would stick to metal and the vibrations of a vehicle, though.

The running boards are made of painted fiberglass, if that makes a difference.

While the rubber mat has treads, I wonder if it will be slippery, when wet.
The sandpaper covers work rain or shine.

I had some rubber mats in my old boat. They weren't slippery when wet and covered with fish slime.
But that doesn't mean these are the same. Some of these mats are a harder material that can be slippery when
wet. Thats one reason I haven't ordered any. I want to see them first hand before buying them.
Yes, perhaps a marine-grade product would work better:

Yes the diamond pattern stuff on your link is what I had in the boat and was very nice.

That's more like it and it comes in various colors.
Wonder how flexible it is and if it will wrap around the edge of the running boards?
In the past, a deck painted with epoxy paint, embedded with ground walnuts shells, was a desire surface.
It worked great for shoes or wet bare feet.

Hey, you'll have to come up with the epoxy paint, but I can spare some of Frankie's ground walnut shell cat litter if you want to re-do your running boards, Larry! ;)

What I had was flexible enough to wrap around the edge.
