Just wondering if any members are affected by the Oroville evacuation orders?
Well, it seems no one here is in harm's way. I hope the other folks effected are kept safe and secure from this impending disaster. It's just terrible for anyone to have to go through this. My heart goes out to those in the effected area.
Came across this photo of the Oroville Dam spillway which really shows the scope of the damage. All I can say is wow!
Makes me wonder how stable the ground was below the concrete. Erosion perhaps weakening the spillway?
That's a very serious situation.
Wow! My sentiments, exactly.

Even more impressive when I finally noticed the seven people, standing on the concrete deck.
That's a big hole and a lot of material to replace. Glad no one has assign the repair project to me.
Besides worrying about future storms, the lake has the spring melt to contend with.
An early hot spell or a warm storm system could cause a rapid melt off.
It sure has been an interesting year so far.

Oh dear! Sorry Larry, but in your behalf I did submit a quote to them with your name on it....

That's all right, I just appointed you to be my assistant.
Think of all the OT!

Looking at this from a real estate perspective. Would you ever feel comfortable buying a house downstream?
We wouldn't. Going to be tough on home sellers.

Negative! Unfortunately, my aunt lives in Linda, a suburb of Marysville which is downstream.
