Title: Window shade part
Post by: Jim & Gayle on November 08, 2016, 11:20:09 am
One of the small plastic spool things that maintain tension for the blind cord is damaged. Does anyone know what that is called and possibly a source other than the factory?

This answers my question. I took a look at the Lazy Daze Companion and found a write up on window blinds. In the post Ted H. provided the name of the business where I assume the blinds are made. I called them and they send them out for free.

Here is the link should anyone else need it.

Oh thanks a bunch. I have the same issue with the blind on the rear window of our MidBath.

In a pinch, you could probably substitute a standard Singer-type sewing machine bobbin.

We got the replacements promptly. Only asked for two and they sent 4. Nice customer service, a rarity these days.

The gizmo that holds the shade up also frays the cord which will eventually break. Our gizmo broke last year. I put a cleat on the cornice that allows figure eights around it to hold the shade up. Simple and cheap and less cursing.
