Title: Lighting
Post by: Bill Pratt on September 24, 2016, 01:19:30 pm
We've had an overhead fluorescent bulb in our 2006 MB (over the streetside couch)).  We both recall discussions about LED replacements, but have mined only a couple of old posts.  Anyone with a better memory of more recent conversations?

Pointing us in the right direction/specific LED info would be much appreciated.

I've had a good experience with products from this company:

LED Retrofit Light Bulbs for RVs and Trailers (http://www.m4products.com/led-rv-retrofit-bulbs/)

Like Joan, I used M4. This one. (http://www.m4products.com/t5-tube-nw-natural)

A single tube seems the same lighting as the double flourecents. I would like to find one of similar wavelengths that is a bit less bright! Mine draws .76 amps. Two flourecents were 1.54 amps.

Paul, the link didn't work for me. Are you saying you installed a single LED tube to replace the 2 standard fluorescent tubes?

I had one LED tube installed in place of the two original fluorescents in two fixtures; one LED tube provides much more light than the originals. The fixture over the sink uses two LED tubes because I wanted as much light in the galley as I could get. There is also an LED "puck" under the cupboard at the end of the counter next to the flip-up extension.

Yes, a single LED tube was equivalent in light to the original two flourecents. I installed a single LED tube in 4 of the 5 fixtures. So 4 LEDs replaced 8 flourecent tubes. They look lopsided when lit, but the light is equivalent.
